The Influence of Democracy on Religious Thought and Practice, 1913

This is a text that Earl Davis read at the meeting of the Connecticut Valley Association of Liberal Ministers, June 3, 1913. It was subsequently published in the Christian Register, Volume 92, October 9, 1913, pp. 970-973.

Among the manuscripts that Earl Davis saved were four letters from Arthur Weatherly, at the time minister of the All Souls’ Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Weatherly was very keen on Davis’ article and hoped to follow it up with action concerning support for democracy. The letters are also available below.
