Sermons, -1904

Earl Clement Davis enrolled in the Harvard Divinity School in 1902. He gave at least one sermon prior to enrolling, “The Church as a Social Institution” (Congregational church, Freeport, Maine, July 21, 1901), which his note on the sermon identifies as his “first sermon preached.”

He preached in several venues, most especially in Wellseley and Billerica, Massachusetts. Some of these sermons survive.

He gave the 1904 sermon, “Man’s Responsibility,” multiple times, but most importantly on November 27, 1904 in the Pittsfield Massachusetts Unity church, where he took up his first ministry in 1905.
