Booklet of Sermons delivered at Unity Church, Pittsfield

Here is a selection of sermons Earl Clement Davis delivered at the Unity Church, Pittsfield, Massachusetts. In at least one case, the sermon was printed and published, “The Place of the Church in the Life of the Individual and in Society” (Unity Church, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, June 21, 1908). But most were delivered from manuscripts.

In 1907 Earl Davis wrote a short paragraph on the purpose of the church–“a fellowship of those who are trying to live clean, noble, spiritual lives.” This, called a “Paragraph Pulpit” was aimed for publication in the local newspaper, The Berkshire Eagle. Here is that paragraph and its transcription:
