In 1915 the Unitarian Fellowship for Social Justice published this pamphlet. It consists of a series of quotations from the writings and letters of William Ellery Channing (1782-1840) aimed at showing the depth and power of Channing’s thinking on social issues, relevant when he wrote in the early decades of the 19th century, and still relevant in 1915–and even still relevant in 2024.
This manuscript was not found in the trunk of materials that I inherited through my mother from Earl C. Davis. I found it on microfiche at the Harvard Divinity School Library.
