Included in the bundle of Harvard Divinity School class papers was a short story, or perhaps the beginning of one. It is interesting in the slight opening is provides into Davis’ state of mind as he left home to make his way in the world. There was not obvious connection to any Divinity School class, and yet it clearly is not a sermon either. I include it here for lack of an obvious better place for it.
