The purpose of this research, conducted with the support of Oxfam America, is to explores modes of mapping and visualizing existing and potential overlaps and conflicts among agricultural land use, water resources and oil and mining concessions in Ghana and Peru.  This initial geographical mapping will provide a sense of the need to initiate policy and advocacy work at the national level on land use and economic development planning and prioritization process issues.  Further land use analysis focusing on poverty reduction and sustainable livelihoods will need to follow in a second stage.
