Dr. Goldberg recently completed a study of trans/gender-nonconforming (TGNC) college students and graduate students regarding their perspectives and experiences on a range of topics, including trans advocacy and needed supports/services on college campuses. The study began with focus groups of TGNC students. These groups, as well as consultation with TGNC students, informed the development of a survey that was disseminated to students all over the U.S. and beyond in 2016. Students with non-binary gender identities (e.g., genderfluid, genderqueer, agender) were particularly encouraged to participate, as their experiences are rarely represented in research. For information about the survey, and updates about survey findings, visit www.facebook.com/transgnc. A final stage of this study was in-depth interviews with TGNC students in 2017, with a particular focus on (a) graduate students and (b) students who have transferred or left college.
