Dr. Goldberg is involved with a variety of other research projects. She has collaborated with Joanna Scheib at University of California Davis on several projects exploring the experiences of families that have used sperm donors to create their families. She has worked with David Brodzinsky on research exploring the experiences of lesbian, gay, and heterosexual adoptive families across the U.S. Dr. Goldberg regularly collaborates with JuliAnna Smith at the Center for Research on Families at the University of Massachusetts on a number of projects that explore new ways of analyzing dyads over time. She has collaborated on similar projects with Randi Garcia at Smith College. Dr. Goldberg has collaborated with Genny Beemyn at the University of Massachusetts on projects related to transgender students’ experiences, and with Kate Kuvalanka at Miami University on research with trans youth and their families. Finally, a frequent collaborator is Katherine Allen at Virginia Tech. Together, the pair have written many articles and edited several books on lesbian/gay parent-families and family diversity.
Current new projects: Dr. Goldberg is currently, or has recently finished, collecting data for a few new projects, as of Fall 2023:
- A mixed-methods study of queer parents’ perspectives of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and how it may impact their reproductive decisions, sexual health, and parenting;
- A mixed-methods study of LGBTQ parents in Florida, surveyed 6 months after the passage of the Don’t Say Gay/Parental Rights in Education Act;
- A study of LGBTQ+ family building and parenting, inclusive of families who used adoption, donor insemination, surrogacy, and other methods to build their families
- A study of faculty experiences with regard to teaching and doing research on “diversity issues” amidst recent state legislation limiting faculty autonomy in this regard
