I am currently conducting study of trans/gender-nonconforming (TGNC) college students (including recent graduates) and graduate students regarding their perspectives and experiences on a range of topics, including trans advocacy and needed supports/services on college campuses. The study began with focus groups of TGNC students. These groups, as well as consultation with trans/gender-nonconforming students, informed the development of a survey that was disseminated to students all over the United States and beyond during Summer and Fall of 2016. Students with non-binary gender identities (e.g., genderfluid, genderqueer, agender) were particularly encouraged to participate, as their experiences are rarely represented in research. For information about the survey, and updates about survey findings, visit www.facebook.com/transgnc for more information. A final stage of this study is interviews with TGNC students, with a particular focus on two groups of students: (a) graduate students and (b) students who have transferred or left college.
