4A.1: Reflective Practice
Throughout the MAT program, I have been asked to reflect on my practice in many ways. I kept a weekly teaching journal, which my university mentor Heather Roberts would read and respond to. This was a space that I used to think through issues that I might have been encountering in the classroom, as well as to reflect on solutions and strategies that I have tried and their levels of success. According to Heather, my reflections have always been incredibly thorough and have shown my ability to think through any challenges that come my way.
The MAT program has also provided me with many opportunities to receive feedback on my teaching and to thus reflect upon and adjust my practice accordingly. In doing so, For more evidence of how I have done this through participating in teaching rounds, please view the professional learning community section as well as my explanation of the rounds process.
