World Terrestrial Ecosystems 2050

Florencia Sangermano contributed to a global research initiative in partnership with experts from multiple organizations, including Conservation International, Esri, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Wildlife Conervation Society, NatureServe, and The Nature Conservancy. The project models the potential 2050 distributions of World Terrestrial Ecosystems (WTEs). By integrating CMIP6 climate projections, global land cover change models, and landform data, the study identifies areas of likely ecological transformation to support climate adaptation and conservation planning worldwide. Results can be found on the ArcGIS Living Atlas , and can be explored and compared to the WTE distribution for 2015 HERE
