During my MAT year, I was placed at University Park Campus School to do my student teaching. It is a nationally recognized public urban school. I knew none of this going into the program, it was serendipitous to find out that the culture that UPCS has build compliments the sense of community that I had come to love about my previous outdoor education work at Nature’s Classroom. In these pages you will see how I managed to utilize the skills and influences I have accumulated in my relentless pursuit of meaningful and impactful work to become a teacher that elevates his students and creates an empowering culture of learning.
