4A.1: Reflective Practice
Explanation: This is excerpt from a lesson during a bridge building project that my mentor used as an unannounced observation. I had held my third round based on this unit plan and worked off the feedback to make the schedule more manageable and effecitve. In the rounds, James had noted that I was going in a few different directions and that it could seen as talking about blueprint design, physics, and building. I agreed that I should pick one aspect of that lessons to focus on. Ultimately it was more important to me that they have a good plan before they start building.
Evidence: James Kobialka: Lesson is in process; timeline is changed as the focus of the lesson is clarified, and the initial schedule of the unit plan has been extended to give students more time to perfect their technical drawing skills and grasp of building concepts.
