- Participation/Formative Assessments – How are students participating in class? Are students completing lab work effectively? How do you measure confidence with the material? Are students working well in groups?
- Informal assessments: exit slips, class discussions, silent chalk talk, entries in science notebooks.
- Students will have an introduction to the unit at the beginning and also a preview of the concepts at the time. There will be a pre-assessment to gauge the differentiation needed. In each of the lessons, there will be time connect back and elaborate on the major unit terms and concepts.
- Lectures, labs, projects, and a quiz will provide the bulk of the activities and provide data on progress.
- Practice with Punnett squares and a lab involving crosses will be the key activity in this unit.
