Students will get an introduction to genetics and learn about reproduction and heredity. They make the connection that genetics applies to all living organisms. They will understand the role of chromosomes and genes and establish a framework in which they see how traits are passed along through generations. They will encounter the thought leaders that have contributed to our understanding of variation, inheritance, and the mechanisms that explain them.
