600 Year Old Butt Song from Hell

Amelia Hamrick, a music student from Oklahoma University, decided to transcibe the ‘butt-music’ found on a human in the right side panel of the Garden of Earthly delights. Since posting the piano piece on her blog, her song has gone viral. Due to such internet fame, another tumblr blog user has composed a Gregorian choral arrangement based off of her piece.

These are the lyrics to the choral arrangement:

Butt song from hell

This is the butt song from hell

We sing from our asses while burning in purgatory

The butt song from hell

The butt song from hell

Butts

The Fifth Centenary

In 2016, the 500th anniversary of the death of Hieronymus Bosch was celebrated with a major exhibition in his home town, Den Bosch in the Netherlands. The city of Den Bosch does not possess a single painting by Hieronymus Bosch, all of the work shown in the Visions of Genius exhibition was on global loans from Madrid, Venice, and The United States. Of the 25 surviving works ascribed to Bosch and his workshop, The Garden of Earthly Delights was not on loan, as it was deemed too fragile to travel by the Prado Museum.

Jheronimus Bosch E Venezia

The Jheronimus Bosch Exhibition is the most current gallery show of Bosch. This exhibition takes place at the Venice, Palazzo Ducale, Doge’s Apartment  from February 18 – June 4, 2017. Showcasing three works (two triptychs and four panels)that have been preserved in Venice since the Seventeenth-century, the show carefully considers the apotheosis of Bosch as well as his followers and contemporaries in Venice during the Renaissance.
