Overview

Learning is vital to our existence. Knowledge built through learning nourishes our minds and develops skills that are indispensable for everyday experience as well as future careers. While building knowledge is essential to our lives, it is also challenging. Knowledge accumulates over time, however, how do children integrate information learned across separate episodes? What kind of measures facilitate children’s learning? How does language impact in the process of learning? Our lab explores these questions with three main groups: Semantic Knowledge Team, Math Team, and Bilingual Team.

Semantic Knowledge TeamMath TeamBilingual Team
The Semantic Knowledge team aims to understand how children integrate knowledge learned through separate episodes and what kind of factors affects or enhances this process. The Math team focuses on how children develop their understanding of different numbers such as fractions and decimals and how this understanding relates to their math achievement. The Bilingual team explores whether language impacts learning, and the influence of language education programs in the context of learning.
