As I hear something heavy drop to the floor, it seems that the tension in the room ceases.

I know the creature I was talking to wasn’t human. That was very obvious. I could not see him, but the pitch of his voice and the jerkiness and unsteadiness of his movements gave away that he wasn’t entirely human; and if he was, some horrific accident had left him only half the man he once was.

I did, however, trust this creature. His eloquence was so inspiring, especially after he had told me about his past. He led me to believe he had no childhood; an orphan with nobody to take care of him, to teach him how to be a man. All these things that are so important–he had none of them. And in his words I see my Felix; yes, Felix did have a childhood, and had been socialized as he grew up. However they are both honorable, noble, and eloquent. They both have good hearts.

Felix’s temper, however, has always been short, and his reaction to my newly acquired friend was understandable. However, if he only knew this monster the way I had come to know him in such a short time…
