May 29, 17-

A fortnight has passed since my correspondence with Alphonse. Has he received my request? I have no way of knowing. Every night I pray the court accepts my claim of innocence, and yet, every night I wait alone in my cell. I fear I do not have much time left, as they will kill me if I am found guilty. I wish the Frankenstein family a safe, happy life, free from any more grief. I wish Victor Frankenstein a successful career in scientific discovery, and I hope he finally achieves his mysterious dream he is always working on. This family, a family who took poor little me under their wing and treated me as one of their own, deserves all the happiness in the world, and they are forever in my heart. For whoever finds this note, I swear on my life, I am an innocent soul. I have lost all hope that I will be exonerated, and I accept my death willingly. I know that God will protect me, and soon I will be with my darling William once more.

Farewell cruel world,

Justine Moritz
