Caroline Beaufort Frankenstein
My name is Caroline Beaufort Frankenstein. I am the devoted wife to Alphonse Frankenstein, and mother to Victor, Ernest, William, and Elizabeth–my niece–although I love her as if she was one of my own. I was overjoyed at the prospect of Elizabeth’s addition to the family, and wholeheartedly supported my husband’s decision to take her in after his poor sister died. I am so glad that Elizabeth is growing up with me as a mother figure; I know how hard it is to be without one during the most influential years of a girl’s life. In the Frankenstein household, all of our children are well cared for and well educated, and most importantly, they are happy. I am happiest when watching them learn and grow as individuals, and when observing how they interact with one another with such good nature. But the happiest day has yet to come for me, for that will be when my beloved Victor and darling Elizabeth are to be wed, as I knew they should be from the moment she entered our home. When that day comes, my heart shall burst from overwhelming joy, and I shall surely die!
