Several of my recently published essays have been on sexuality and human rights, including “The Enlightenment Origins of Sexual Human Rights”<\/a> (The Germanic Quarterly<\/em>, Summer 2020) and “LGBTQ Rights after the Report on Unalienable Rights”<\/a> (Telos<\/em>, Winter 2020).<\/h3>\n

In addition, I have been working on the far-right thinker, Julius Evola. “The Evolian Imagination: Gender, Race, and Class from Fascism to the Far Right”<\/a> appeared recently in The Journal of Holocaust Research <\/em>(2021). I am the author of three books (Warm Brothers: Queer Theory and the Age of Goethe<\/a>, <\/em>2000; Doctor’s Orders: Goethe and Enlightenment Thought<\/em><\/a>, 2001; Peripheral Desires: The German Discovery of Sex<\/em><\/a>, 2015). With Stephanie Yuhl (Holy Cross) and Joseph Cullon (WPI), I am the co-author of LGBTQ+ Worcester for the Record <\/em><\/a>(2019). We also co-curated the exhibit of the same name<\/a> at the Worcester Historical Museum. With Ivan Raykoff (New School University), I am the co-editor of A Song for Europe: Music and Politics in the Eurovision Song Contest<\/em><\/a> (2007). I am also the editor of the 2011 special issue of Psychoanalysis and History<\/em> <\/a>called “Global Freud.”<\/h3>\n
