Why is it that so little of this work gets into the hands of users. In these articles, Budwig and Alexander explore challenges of conducting transdisciplinary work in developmental inquiry.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fpsyg.2020.576250\/full\">A Transdisciplinary Approach to Student Learning and Development in University Settings in <em>Frontiers<\/em>, 2020<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/244\/2021\/01\/Budwig-and-Alexander-Exploring-the-conceptual-frameworks_to-appear-in-Human-Development-2021.pdf\">Conceptual Frameworks and Transdisciplinary Challenges to appear in<em> Human Development<\/em>, 2021<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Linking Theory and Research in the Learning and Developmental Sciences to Higher Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Theory and research from the learning and developmental sciences can help us reinvigorate liberal education. We need to more explicitly tie the framing and assessment of liberal education to research in the learning and developmental sciences. This body of work begins to forge such linkages.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aacu.org\/peerreview\/2014-2015\/fall-winter\/budwig'\">&#8216;Facilitating Campus Leadership for Integrative Liberal Learning&#8217; in <em>PeerReview<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1080\/00091383.2013.787271\">&#8216;The Learning Sciences and Liberal Education&#8217; in <em>Change: The Magazine of Higher Learning<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1016\/j.cosust.2015.08.003\">&#8216;Concepts and tools from the learning sciences for linking research, teaching and practice around sustainability issues&#8217; in <em>Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge and Practice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>How do new conceptions of knowledge and practice within the human and learning sciences impact the organization of the modern university? Considering cognitive, social and language development holistically adds richness to our understanding.
