Students learn so much from August to June. Students come in as 5 year olds and then they leave as <strong>independent<\/strong> 6 year olds. In first grade, so much teaching has to deal with teaching independence and getting our students to believe in themselves. I was able to create a classroom with extremely <strong>high expectations<\/strong> to foster this independence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These are the goals that I set for my first grade students:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students will be independent learners.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Students will push to work hard in every lesson.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Students will be able to collaborate with each other.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; First grade is an amazing grade.
