4A.1: Reflective Practice
My time in this program has pushed me to reflect in many ways: in my lesson planning, in my demeanor as a teacher, in the way I critique and provide feedback and praise, in my identity as a member of a team and cohort, as both a growing student and teacher. The MAT program has provided ample avenues for reflection. Observing teachers ranging from 1 to 20 plus years of experience, observing my peers as well as being observed by these people has been a really valuable experience in collaboration and reflection. It has strengthened not just my lesson planning but everything about my identity as a teacher.
Evidence:
“Olivia regularly consults with Katie after each lesson and daily. She also provides lessons to me in advance for feedback and consults with me on upcoming unit plans. We discussed the poetry unit as well as the poetry anthology and presentations.” -Dr. Rosa Nam
