Alicia consistently addressed curriculum frameworks in the design and implementation of units and daily lessons. She created units for several content areas (writing, social studies, and science). Alicia identified her objectives and assessments in her curriculum and learning plans — the assessments supported and informed instructional practice. Alicia consistently integrated reading and writing opportunities across all content areas in the curriculum.

From my Summative Assessment Form:
Alicia used a variety of formal assessments, such as BAS and EnVisions assessments, as well as daily individual and group assessments that were both formal and informal to guide instruction. Before starting new units of study, she checked for student background knowledge and then used her early lessons to help establish base skills and vocabulary needed to move forward. Alicia understands the importance of offering students multiple ways to demonstrate their understanding of content across a given unit of study. As she evaluated work from a single lesson, she used her analysis to determine if changes needed to be made to the following lesson plan. Her assessment tools both informed and extended her lesson goals and learning activities.
