Room 235 in the 10th Grade Pod!

In room 235, I have been able to work with 121 extraordinary and unique individual learners. Our classroom was home to four College level English II courses, and one Honors level English II course in which students were encouraged to discover the power of reading and writing every day. The population of these classes were primarily students of color of whom many were English Language Learners. Though one-of-a-kind, the students in my classroom all possessed great potential, compassion, and willingness to learn. Their individuality challenged me to find new, creative, and exciting ways to teach daily! Through reading and writing, students in my classroom were able to gain a better understanding of themselves and the world(s) around them. Through teaching reading and writing, I was able to build great relationships with my students, and I too gained a better understanding of who I am and where I come from.
