This portfolio includes some of the contexts I have immersed myself in while being a student teacher at South High Community School over the past school year. As a student teacher I have had the amazing opportunity to teach classes all on my own while collaborating with many great veteran teachers. The students at South High come from many diverse backgrounds, speak over 40 languages, and are at various academic levels. Though different in many ways, my students all had one thing in common: they were curious about the world and wanted to know what their purpose in it was. Helping students gain knowledge about the world around them through reading and writing not only gave them answers to their own critical questions, it also allowed me to figure out my own purpose as an educator.
