Rounds Reflection

Having observers in my classroom was not at all what I expected. Though my students were reluctant to have strangers watching them learn, they were very welcoming to anyone who entered our room. The rounds process was beneficial to my teaching because it gave me an opportunity to see learning that I usually would miss as the lead teacher. As most of my lessons are student centered, I miss a lot of interesting moments in student learning as I walk around doing one-on-one check-ins. Hosting a round helped me become aware of what students were doing to learn when I was helping others.
