{"id":689,"date":"2018-11-12T12:31:51","date_gmt":"2018-11-12T17:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat19-template\/?page_id=689"},"modified":"2019-05-05T13:37:46","modified_gmt":"2019-05-05T17:37:46","slug":"understanding-goals","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat19-slevy\/learning-teaching-portraits\/portrait-iii-overview\/understanding-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"Understanding Goals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additional to the fact that learning about culture is an Atlas standard(the website which compiles state teachign standards), cultural understanding is imperative to deepening our sense of self and the world, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">especially<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in such a culturally rich place as Worcester. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">My students have family who have recently immigrated from Ghana, Albania, Japan, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Panam\u00e1, and Mexico!
