Curriculum, Planning, and Assessment

The CAP process requires that we be observed based on the following two standards:

1A.4:          Well-Structured Lessons

Developing well-structured lessons is an important aspect of planning. Lessons should have clear objectives; the goals of the lesson should be appropriate but challenging, and should have a source of measurement. Well-structured lessons should also be paced and sequenced purposefully, with engaging strategies and activities for students.

1B.2:          Adjustment to Practice

Instruction should be adjusted based on analyzed results from a variety of assessments. These findings should dictate lesson planning, and will help highlight individual student needs; some students will require interventions, while others will need more challenging work.
