The students became scientist through conducting research and completing experiments with accompanying lab reports. Students will work individually, in lab partners, and lab groups.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This unit was created by looking at the curriculum&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat19-sawest\/learning-teaching-portraits\/portrait-ii-overview\/curriculum-standards\/\">standards<\/a>,&nbsp;deciding the most&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat19-sawest\/learning-teaching-portraits\/portrait-ii-overview\/understanding-goals\/\">rationale<\/a> way to reach every student, and identifying <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat19-sawest\/learning-teaching-portraits\/portrait-ii-overview\/pedagogy\/\">student&nbsp;readiness and needs&nbsp;<\/a>. From there the learning&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat19-sawest\/learning-teaching-portraits\/portrait-ii-overview\/learning-activities\/\">goals<\/a>&nbsp;were created,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat19-sawest\/learning-teaching-portraits\/portrait-ii-overview\/performance-assessments\/\">assessed<\/a>&nbsp;and then met through hands on activities with many opportunities to practice.
