Rounds Explanation & Reflection

During my time as an MAT I was given the opportunity to take part in the rounds process. During this time fellow MAT candidates and faculty members are given background on the learning which has been occurring in your classroom, the goals for a particular lesson and finally are invited into the classroom to observe and in some cases participate in this lesson. During this time those watching take notes on four specific focus and reflection questions. Following the lesson the fellow candidates, faculty members and myself take time to reflect on the strength and weaknesses of the lesson and student learning.

Click here to find the rounds sheets from each round listed in the column labeled “Round Explanation and Reflection” which the fellow MATs and faculty are given prior to the round lesson. Included in this round sheet is my personal reflection on the lesson in direct response to the focus and reflection questions.
