Each student is responsible for assembling the memoir throughout the year, creating one as an assessment following some of the major units.\u00a0<em>You Don&#8217;t Know Me<\/em> was one of these unit; the young adult novel\u00a0provided a perfect canvas for telling narratives of identity formation and a search for oneself.<\/p>\n<p>The students were familiar with the instructions and rubric from earlier in the year, though I adapted the rubric to better accommodate\u00a0<em>You Don&#8217;t Know Me:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/416\/2016\/01\/Capture-2.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-866\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-866 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/416\/2016\/01\/Capture-2.jpg\" alt=\"Capture\" width=\"624\" height=\"648\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat16-nporcella\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/416\/2016\/01\/Capture-2.jpg 624w, https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat16-nporcella\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/416\/2016\/01\/Capture-2-289x300.jpg 289w, https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/mat16-nporcella\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/416\/2016\/01\/Capture-2-144x150.jpg 144w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I also had major success with student&#8217;s formatting the typed memoirs correctly while in the computer lab.
