I have been fortunate enough to work with grades 9 and 11, meaning that I was able to gain experience planning curriculum units in two completely different classroom setting. You can see some of that work here.
My two keystone units in the 9th grade were my Of Mice and Men and You Don’t Know Me units. I also planned a unit for “Herman and Alice,” a mini horror unit, a memoir unit, a proofreading unit, and a slam poetry unit.
In the 11th grade, it was the A Streetcar Named Desire unit. I also did a unit on The Kite Runner, one on poetry, and one on Night.
