\"20160127_124023\"<\/a>During my practicum I worked at South High Community School<\/a>. \u00a0My classroom was in the \u201cSpanish Pod,\u201d a large room with\u00a0dividers\u00a0separating the different classrooms. \u00a0My class, Room 114, was in the back corner so I had two real walls and one dividers. \u00a0The rest of the classes in the pod are other Spanish classes and the one rooms on across from me was the French class. This allows for interactions between the teachers and classes.<\/p>\n

My three Spanish classes vary in size, so we have over thirty desks jammed into the room set up in groups of four to foment collaboration. \u00a0 Around the room there are two whiteboards, \u00a0we have a word wall, student expectations, homework assignments, student work and other informational materials. \u00a0The pod also has an ELMO, projector and white board that we utilize daily.<\/p>\n

\nThe other\u00a0great aspect about our location, is the proximity to the computer lab, which we use on a weekly basis. This gives students access to “authentic materials” (Newspapers, Blogs, Journals in Spanish), helps develop students technological literacy, and allows for low stakes evaluations of students progress through games and online activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
