The content I teach is dictated by the Massachusetts state standards and Common Core, though my students define how I teach the content and what resource I use. In the Spanish guidelines there is an emphasis on on the 5 c’s: Connections, Communication, Cultures, Comparisons, & Communities. Each unit covers these 5 C’s, as well as the 4 different language modalities: Writing, Reading, Listening and Writing.
In order to make these curriculum objectives clear and attainable, I have divided the week into Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening days, and mid-unit as well as at the end of units we play review games to synthesize and reinforce information. I also really have strived for a strong community connection and contextualization with the students interests and daily lives.
Below, you will find all of the curriculum units I taught this year listed in chronological order, some of which link to curriculum unit plans.
