I grew up in Gainesville, Florida, but have spent most of my adult life living in New England and in Washington, DC, where I worked for three different Members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation.

My interest in immigration politics is driven by my family’s own diverse history. My father is originally from Cuba, and I also have ancestors from Poland and Macedonia.

I enjoy traveling, reading, practicing yoga, cooking, being outside, and spending time with my husband Nick, our daughters, Miriam (10) and Lilah (8), and our dog, Clover (15).

I am also a member of the New Frontier Network at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum and of the Kennedy Staff Club at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.
