One such bundle included seven manuscripts; six can be dated to 1918. <\/p>\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/dbaird\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/701\/2024\/09\/18FirstPageOfFourBradCollection1918.pdf\" class=\"pdfemb-viewer\" style=\"\" data-width=\"max\" data-height=\"max\" data-toolbar=\"bottom\" data-toolbar-fixed=\"off\">18FirstPageOfFourBradCollection1918<\/a>\n\n\n<p>While six of these manuscripts can be clearly dated to 1918, the manuscript, &#8220;The Churches and Socialism,&#8221; is from 1910. It also appears in a bundle from 1910. My guess is that is was included in this later bundle because it covers some similar ground on socialism and democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The manuscript, &#8220;Making Democracy Safe in America: Democratization of Industry,&#8221; is an incomplete version of another manuscript not found in this collection, &#8220;The Democratization of Industry.&#8221; Instead of including this incomplete manuscript here, I have included it with &#8220;The Democratization of Industry,&#8221; which is not included in this collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other than &#8220;The Churches and Socialism,&#8221; all the other manuscripts were written after the United States had entered World War I, but before its conclusion.
