Davis wrote while at the Unitarian Church in Concord, New Hampshire. According to the church&#8217;s records, he took up his ministry there in 1924. So, it is likely that the two sermons that he preached there in 1923&#8211;October 28, &#8220;Life Has Meaning&#8221; and November 4, &#8220;The Search for Life&#8221;&#8211;were part of an &#8220;audition&#8221; for taking up his ministry there in 1924. Perhaps of particular interest is a long text Davis in 1932 about Abigail Adams (1744-1818) and her descendent, Brooks Adams (1848-1927).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are a selection of sermons and manuscripts that Earl C.
