Helen specializes in community-based conservation and science communication and administration. A social scientist, Helen has 18 years experience directing and collaborating with projects in Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Bolivia, and Peru. Most recently, Helen has served as a policy advisor at U.S. Agency for International Development&#8217;s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance and a Director in Science and Conservation at the Missouri Botanical Garden. Prior, Helen worked as an anthropologist and practitioner researching and implementing international best practices for inclusive cultural heritage management forwarding locally-led sustainable development and respect for human rights of marginalized and vulnerable populations.&nbsp; As a Fulbright Scholar, Helen provided technical assistance to the Turkish government to implement UNESCO policies for heritage management and help to design the archaeological site museum of Troy. with government officials, museum curators, and architects&nbsp; She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and a Masters and Ph.D. from Stanford University.
