Members of my lab study a range of topics related to individual, group, and family psychological functioning in relation to systems of oppression, power, and privilege. For example, we have studied anti-racist parenting among White parents of young children, mental health outcomes related to critical action among adolescents, postpartum anxiety and the relation between anxiety and patriarchal oppression, mental health functioning among youth involved in the child welfare system, and young women’s identity development in the context of patriarchal oppression and rising misogyny.
In addition to these shared topical interests, members of the lab share a broad interest in the use of qualitative and mixed methods to deepen our understanding of psychological phenomena.
