{"id":149,"date":"2013-06-25T13:24:44","date_gmt":"2013-06-25T17:24:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/abebbington\/?page_id=149"},"modified":"2015-01-17T17:11:32","modified_gmt":"2015-01-17T22:11:32","slug":"events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/abebbington\/lab-news\/events\/","title":{"rendered":"Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Forthcoming events<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Members of the Rural Resource Governance lab have organized two sessions on the \u201cContested Geographies of Resource Governance\u201d for the forthcoming meetings of the New England Council of Latin American Studies to be held at Wheaton College, November 9th, 2013<\/p>\n<p>Tony Bebbington will serve as one of two Track Chairs for the Agrarian Studies panels at the 2014 annual conference of the Latin American Studies Association to be held in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>Denise Humphreys Bebbington will serve as one of two Track Chairs for the Environment panels at the 2014 annual conference of the Latin American Studies Association to be held in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recent events<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Together with colleague Javier Arellano of the Universidad de Deusto in Spain, Tony Bebbington organized a panel at the 2013 annual conference of the Latin American Studies Association held from May 30th to June 1st in Washington DC. The panel, titled \u201cFrom Extraction to Development? Conflict and Institutional Change in Latin America\u2019s Extractive Industries Boom\u201d involved presentations by Tony, Javier, Denise Humphreys Bebbington (Clark) and Martin Scurrah (Centro Peruano de Estudios Sociales, Lima) and a commentary from Cynthia Sanborn,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.clarku.edu\/abebbington\/lab-news\/link%20goes%20here\">Director of the Research Center of the Universidad del Pac\u00edfico in Lima.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On February 13th, 2013 Tony Bebbington\u2019s edited book\u00a0<em>Industrias extractivas, conflicto social y din\u00e1micas institucionales en la regi\u00f3n andina<\/em>\u00a0was presented at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iep.org.pe\/presentacion_del_libro___industrias_extractivas__conflicto_social_y_dinamicas_institucionales_en_la_region_andina_.html\" target=\"_blank\">Instituto de Estudios Peruanos in Lima<\/a>.
