Primary Timing Project

Welcome!

This project considers the consequences of primary election dates on turnout, spending, and competitiveness in primary and general elections. The data collected for this project can be used to answer many different questions regarding congressional primary elections.

This project was supported by a grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation’s Madison Initiative; principal investigators Robert Boatright and Vincent Moscardelli.
